Here are a couple of my tips for setting goals:
1. Adopting a Philosophy
Success is something you do attract and not something that you pursue. – Jim Rohn
Isn’t that just what attraction marketing is all about? You gotta become like a magnet that attracts people and opportunities.
This truth is backed by another great quote from Jim Rohn: ” Work harder on yourself than on your job. If you work hard on your job you can make a living, but if you work hard on yourself you can make a fortune. ”
2. Building a Team
Network marketing is pretty much about helping other people. You must work with your down and upline in this business in order to make it work. Period. You gotta be a team player.
“If 2 or 3 agree on a common purpose, nothing is impossible.” – Jim Rohn
3. Power of Recognition
Be busy giving people recognition and you will not need to strive for it.
4. Communication Skills
- Training
- Teaching
- Inspiring other people
5. Making Lists
This is one of my goal setting techniques: Jot down what books you want to read, people you want meet, places you want to go, income you would like to make, education you desire for you and your family…and so on. Use a separate sheet of paper for each category. There is magic in writing. Whatever you write down is a solid message for your subconscious mind and you act on whatever there is on your subconscious.
6. Hunger for Learning
Adopt a mindset that has a never ending drive for growth. Read the books, attend seminars, watch webinars, read those blog posts, take those classes, listen to audio tapes while you cruising around in your car….and so on. There is so much out there, it would be waste not to tap into that abundance of information and wisdom.
They way I developed this mindset was pretty ordinary. I had some questions and I was looking for answers. I wondered why some people with fluent backgrounds end up in the toilet sometimes, while people from orphanage homes become very successful in terms of finance and accomplishment. I read a book that pointed out that it was their psychology and philosophy. I went out and start reading Tony Robbins’ books and listened his audio CD’s. From that point I got hooked on self development.
Today the more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know or understand; so it drives me even more.
I became a real searcher for awareness and understanding.
“What you think about is like the sail on a sailboat. No matter how the winds blow you can arrive at your destination by adjusting the set of the sail.”
Sail is your thinking, your approach, ideas and information. So you can’t afford to have any shortage of that at all. That’s why you really have to go out there and study your ass off. It won’t be a struggle once you know what you’re after. Once you realize that’s what it takes to get where you want to be you will do the necessary steps.
Set your goals, move toward a better you by unleashing the power within you. Be persistent and you will surely reach your destination.

Hi Akos,
Thanks for this inspiring post. I really like the analogy of a sail.
Fight, adjust, do what you can to get through the storm instead of just not caring and sinking your ship.

Yep, as Tony Robbins says: If you fail, try something else, if that doesn’t work, try something else, if that doesn’t work, try something else……………….and so on!
